Can I place a hold on a book?

Holds may be placed on material that is checked out to another patron or material that is in our stacks, but not on reserve materials. A hold may be placed at the circulation desk with a staff member or done online via the library's Online Catalog. You will be notified when your material is available to pick up. NOTE: A patron does not have to return his or her material earlier than the due date when you place a hold on that item, you may still have to wait until the item's due date to check it out.
